P D Siwal has more than 34 years of experience in many facet of the Indian Power Sector through various assignments. In the Ministry of Power, Central Electricity Authority, North Eastern Regional Power Committee and the Department of Atomic Energy. He visited many countries like Sweden, Norway, Finland, Japan, the erstwhile USSR, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Singapore etc. to keep abreast with the emerging technology and new dimensions added in the power sector like Renewable Energy, Offshore hydro pump storage schemes, Flexibilization of Thermal Generation, Carbon Capturing, Coal Gasification etc.. He was superannuated in February 2020, as Member (Thermal), Central Electricity Authority & Ex-Officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
